I wish I could commit to paper the feelings with which I beheld it. It was the blood-stained gate, the entrance to the hell of slavery, through which I was about to pass. It was the first of a long series of such outrages, of which I was doomed to be a witness and a participant. I never shall forget it whilst I remember any thing. I was quite a child, but I well remember it. I remember the first time I ever witnessed this horrible exhibition. He would whip her to make her scream, and whip her to make her hush and not until overcome by fatigue, would he cease to swing the blood-clotted cowskin. There is probably more enough of you ressources on the market either way. Also I don't think the AI will import more resources from you when you are on Free Trade compared to Export Focus. The louder she screamed, the harder he whipped and where the blood ran fastest, there he whipped longest. Export Focus is also a good mix for exporting rubber to Italy, and the Rest of the Axis and using the rubber yourself for producint airplanes. No words, no tears, no prayers, from his gory victim, seemed to move his iron heart from its bloody purpose. I have often been awakened at the dawn of day by the most heart-rending shrieks of an own aunt of mine, whom he used to tie up to a joist, and whip upon her naked back till she was literally covered with blood. He would at times seem to take great pleasure in whipping a slave. He was a cruel man, hardened by a long life of slave-holding. It required extraordinary barbarity on the part of an overseer to affect him. Master, however, was not a humane slaveholder. I have known him to cut and slash the women's heads so horribly, that even master would be enraged at his cruelty, and would threaten to whip him if he did not mind himself. He always went armed with a cowskin and a heavy cudgel. Plummer was a miserable drunkard, a profane swearer, and a savage monster. His farms and slaves were under the care of an overseer. He owned two or three farms, and about thirty slaves. I mean something similar to when you do the F10 to export a political map, it would be nice to do something similar for. He was not considered a rich slaveholder. He was generally called Captain Anthony-a title which, I presume, he acquired by sailing a craft on the Chesapeake Bay.

The required sites opened on Firefox and I was able to complete and submit. I called the SoS's office, was immediately connected to the tech help person whose first question was, "what browser are you using?" When I told him Opera, he said, "Try Firefox, Safari or Chrome. The required web sites opened and worked perfectly on two other browsers. Yesterday I tried to complete and submit a report on my State's Secretary of State (SoS) web site. I tried everything but could not get it to work. I too suffer from the same problem: some sites just won't load on Opera while they work quite fine on other browsers. I've found that if I delete browsing history data in Opera, it starts working again and I can go into gmail and facebook., but after a few hours it stops working and I get the error message again. Other devices in the same network work fine. Other browsers in my macbook pro such as chrome work fine. I USE AVAST BUT I DON'T KNOW WHAT THIS MEANS. If it is already listed as a program allowed to access the network, try removing it from the list and adding it again. WORKS FINE.Īllow Opera to access the network in your firewall or antivirus settings. WORKS FIE.Ĭheck any cables and reboot any routers, modems, or other network devices you may be using. It makes some suggestions, but it's not been helpful.Ĭhecking the proxy and the firewall I DON'T KNOW WHETHER THIS IS SHARED WITH OTHER BROWSERS, CHROME AND SAFARI WORK FINE.Ĭheck your internet connection.
